EMAIL SPUD

As usual, Spud pulls triple duty on the newest release,
Chickenshack Boogie Nights.

Peter "Spud" Siegel is the only member of Bond Street who is not a native of the Pacific Northwest. Unfortunately for the folks of Scotch Plains, New Jersey, Spud made his way at an early age (in 1976) to Idaho, where he and his oldest brother, "Kid," formed The Famous Potatoes.

Being the middle child in a musical passel of five boys, Spud still pulls out his mandolin (or any number of other instruments he plays) at family gatherings -- whether they take place in a home or on a stage.

"Kid and I were always around music of all kinds. We played in various bands, and were heavily involved in all the school bands through high school -- marching, jazz, orchestra, chorus." Spud played mandolin for the Famous Potatoes, and it continues to be his main instrument, though he also plays fiddle, guitar, quattro, and for Bond Street, piano, trumpet and accordian.

Spud's long list of former and/or current bands includes Meloddity, with Turtle Van de Mar, The Barbecue Orchestra, The Christie Girls, Richard Cranium and the Phoreheads, Los Comatosos, Spud & Crabbo, Beerman Creek String Band, and the Muddy Bottom Boys, the Floating Glass Balls, plus innumerable guest appearances with folks such as Dan Hicks, Kate Power and Steve Einhorn. He has appeared on the nationally-broadcast Sandy Bradley's Potluck radio show, and in the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie, Kindergarten Cop.
